Nothing new to learn
It is your login shell, or any you name, in a real pseudo-terminal: colours, control keys, copy and paste, scrollback, and full-screen programs such as vim, htop, or claude. Your dotfiles run as they do anywhere else, and nothing runs in it that you did not type.

Out of the way
There when you want it
The shell keeps running while the Panel is hidden or another page is open, with its scrollback waiting when you come back. Drag the view to another side of the window if the bottom is not where you want it, and start a new shell from the view when you exit one.
How it connects
Every plugin answers to the shell, and the page keeps up.
What a command writes reaches the page as any change on disk does.

From the shell
Already where the work is
The shell starts in the root folder, with EIDOS_ROOT set to its path and EIDOS_USER to the person you are acting as, so eidos, git, and your own scripts work on the right files, as the right person, from the first command.
